Diets do not work. Among the people who do them, 98% of the people gain the weight back. Also the stress of not eating as much as you want, makes your system more acid. This causes you to crave more sugar, salt and fat. Then eating these things you crave, causes you to hate yourself and you feel more stress making losing weight even harder. There is a strong connection between obesity and depression.
Here is how it works. Animals are not taught what foods are good to eat. Animals know what is good to eat by using their instinct. Humans also have the same instinct. All you have to do is eat whatever tastes good and that will be non-fattening and healthy for you. That is why a baby tastes everything. So again whatever tastes good, is good for you. This is why you will spit out spoiled milk. This instinct can help you lose weight.
I love eating Cabbage Crunch from the salad bar at Whole Foods. It is the largest natural foods chain of supermarkets in America. Cabbage Crunch contains grated red and green cabbage, sliced almonds, poppy seeds, scallions (green onions), olive oil and apple cider vinegar. One of the healthiest foods for cancer and colon health is cabbage. The red cabbage is considered a black food. Like other black foods (black grapes, black beans and eggplant) it contains the antioxidant, anthocyandin, that is good for the cardiovascular system.
One time I got some. As soon as I put it in my mouth, I spit it out. It was spoiled. But I got my money back and they had someone go there to remove it. Salt can dull your sense of taste. Also salt causes you to eat more thereby making it harder to lose weight.
Butter can be kept unrefrigerated for days without going bad. Without ever tasting it, you know it is bad from the rancid (bad) smell. You will smell that it is rancid, meaning having a bad smell or taste. But do not be a person who believes. Be someone who knows. Leave a piece of butter out for days and smell it everyday. Did you ever smell what it smells like being behind a garbage truck? The horrible smell is giving you the message to not eat it.
Fasting experts and Mark Twain say that you can get over the flu or a cold in the quickest way by fasting. This is why you lose your appetite. If someone's sinuses are very congested, maybe he could eat a rancid meal and not know there is anything wrong with it.
But wait! Man has the technology to create rat poison. This food tastes good to the rat, like healthy food, but it kills the rat. So man has done that to you. Note that any food unaltered by man (uncooked) that tastes good, is good for you. So if you are stranded in the woods, that is how you would know what to eat. Just taste everything raw and you will spit out the toxic plants since they will taste terrible.
There are poisonous mushrooms called toadstool mushrooms. If you put some raw ones in your mouth, you will spit them out since they taste horrible. But cook them and add salt and you can eat enough of them to kill you. Carnivorous animals love the taste of blood and raw meat since that is what they are supposed to eat.
So man has created fake fruit. It tastes like fruit that exists in nature, but it is addictive, fattening and terrible for health. It is called sweets. So it is natural to like real sweets called fruit, like a baby does. But they have fooled your sense of taste, just like the rat was fooled. But they do not want to kill you. They just want you to become obese so you will buy more of their foods.
This is called good business. You can re-acquire your taste in food and re-learn how to eat. Then you can eat all the great tasting foods you want and be thin, healthy and fit for life.

Pizza - A Slice of Heaven Revisted
Without a doubt, Ed Levine knows his pizza. He is an author, food critic and full time pizza fanatic. Levine just can't get enough pizza.
Levine takes his pizza seriously. He consumed over a thousand slices in twelve months, in twenty states and several countries. The result of this journey, Pizza A Slice of Heaven, is a volume dedicated to America's favorite food.
He reviews all manner of pizza and pizzerias. He tries the fantastic as well as the mediocre. He begins his quest at the source of all pizza, Naples, Italy. He samples pizza from the East to the West Coast and many places in between. His focus is on pizza so memorable that his heart pounds just thinking about it. Levine has developed his own rubric for rating pizza. He notes the criterion is the fuel source, the oven, the crust, the mozzarella, the sauce and the balance.
This book is more than just a review of great pizza. Within these pages are adventurous tales filled with pizza obsession, passion, heartbreak, and enlightenment. You will even find a cure for the dreaded Pizza Burn. Pizza Burn occurs when searing hot cheese meets the unprotected roof of your mouth. He also includes a pizza recipe for the home cook. Ed Levine has done his homework.
Levine is wise enough to enlist the assistance of such luminaries as Chefs Mario Batali and Peter Reinhart (American Pie: My Search for the Perfect Pizza), Nora Ehron, Jeffery Stiengarten and many others. These authors add much varied flavor to the different tastes in the book. In some ways this book is a collaborative effort full of Pizza anecdotes and reviews, however, Levine pulls it altogether in the end.
Levine is very straight forward about his pizza picks. He is a New Yorker, and his choices have a New York spin. He feels (as many New Yorkers feel), New York is the center of the pizza universe. He is not a pizza elitist, however.
He nods his head to the famed New Haven, Connecticut Pizza; Pepe's, and Sally's Apizza. He does acknowledge Wooster Street in New Haven, as being a stronghold of some of the best pizza in America. He searches New York, Boston, Chicago, The Mid West, The South, The Southwest, and The West Coast. He even touches on South American Pizza. He takes a stab at Bar Pizza, Frozen Pizza, Chain Pizza and Internet Pizza (pizzatherapy.com, a web site based in Hawaii, is referenced).
Levine rates Hawaii pizza, by enlisting the assistance of Joan Namkoony and John Heckathorn from Honolulu Magazine. As part of their research, they ordered fourteen pizzas from Kahala to Mapunupuna and brought them back to their office for a pizza party. After a blind-test-side-by-side comparison, one pizza came out on top: Antonio's New York Pizzeria. Owners (and cousins) Anthony Romano and Joe Tramantano are transplanted from Connecticut carrying on the thin crust pizza tradition here in Hawaii.
I recommend Pizza: A Slice of Heaven! without hesitation or reservation. This is a wonderful book for anyone who ever enjoyed a pizza. Levine does not sugar coat any of his reviews or recommendations. The book is totally opinionated and therein lies it's charm.
Levine is already braced for controversy and asks readers to contact him with additional suggestions for future editions of Pizza: A Slice of Heaven!
